Sapporo Hotels With a Baby Cot: Which Room Types Take One
Which Sapporo hotels lend a baby cot? Five checked for fee, age limit and room limits: View Hotel, Grand, Keio Plaza, Prince, Premier (Oct 2026).
For Sapporo hotels with a baby cot, the answer depends on your baby's age and on whether you mind paying, because none of the five names a cot-ready room type on its official pages, outside one Keio Plaza family plan. Sapporo View Hotel Odori Park states the cot is free for infants under one year who cannot pull up to stand, and says only certain room types can take it. Sapporo Grand Hotel is the one that publishes a price and a size (checked October 2026). The condition that changes the answer is age: the Grand cot is built for ages 0 to 2, while the View Hotel and Keio Plaza cots stop at about one year, so for a 15-month-old the Grand is the only published fit; Sapporo Prince's two pages disagree, so ask which rule applies.
Five Sapporo Hotels That Put Cot Rules in Writing
We read the Japanese FAQ, service and room pages of the larger central Sapporo hotels in October 2026 and kept the five that publish a fee, an age limit or a room restriction for the cot. Hotels whose official pages did not mention a cot are left out rather than guessed at. The five sit around Sapporo Station, Odori Park and Nakajima Park; Susukino and the airport hotels are not covered here.
| Hotel | Room type | What is actually guaranteed | Bookable · Guaranteed on request · Subject to availability · Unknown | Where this was confirmed (official page + checked YYYY-MM) | Book |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sapporo View Hotel Odori Park | Only certain room types (not named) | Free cot for infants under 1 year who cannot pull up to stand; reservation in advance; the hotel says the room types that can hold one are limited | Subject to availability; the eligible room types are Unknown | Official Japanese FAQ, checked 2026-10 | Book |
| Sapporo Grand Hotel | Not every room type (the FAQ and each room page say some cannot take one) | Paid cot, ¥1,600 per night tax included; 80cm wide × 130cm long × 90cm high; for ages 0–2; quantity limited, so it may not be possible | Subject to availability (contact reservations in advance) | Official Japanese FAQ, checked 2026-10 | Book |
| Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo | Not every room: some layouts cannot take it. One plan lists the cot with a fixed room (11F Standard Large Twin, 33.2m²) | Free cot, about 110cm × 60cm, for children under about 1 year; request at the time of booking | Subject to availability on a normal booking; the plan room is Bookable if that plan is on sale | Official service page (JA) and plan page (JA), checked 2026-10 | Book |
| Sapporo Prince Hotel | Any room (no room-type list published) | Free cot; the FAQ says 0-year-olds only, the rental page says up to age 1 "for safety"; quantity limited; advance reservation | Subject to availability; room types Unknown | Official FAQ (JA) and rental page (JA), checked 2026-10 | Book |
| Premier Hotel Nakajima Park Sapporo | No room-type list published (Family and Deluxe Twin appear on the page but are not tied to the cot) | Paid cot, ¥3,300 per stay tax included; no age limit or reservation method stated | Unknown (fee is written; availability and room types are not) | Official baby and kids page (JA), checked 2026-10 | Book |
Of the 5 Sapporo hotels above, 3 provide the cot free (View Hotel, Keio Plaza, Prince), 2 charge for it (Grand ¥1,600 a night, Premier ¥3,300 a stay), 3 state that room type or layout limits it, and none of their official pages names which room types can take a cot (checked October 2026).
What "Bookable" Means for a Cot in Sapporo
For a cot, the four levels we use in this series mean something narrower than they do for a bed. Bookable would be a room you can pick on the booking screen because the cot comes with it. Only Keio Plaza's family plan comes close, and only if that plan is on sale for your dates. Guaranteed on request would be a written promise that a cot will be in the room; no page above makes that promise. Subject to availability is where almost every hotel lands: the Grand says a request may not be fulfilled ("ご用意いたしかねる場合もございます"), the Prince says quantity is limited. Unknown is what remains when a page names a price but not a method, as with Premier Nakajima Park.
Three details on the pages matter more than the hotel name.
- The age rule can differ inside one hotel. Sapporo Prince's FAQ says the cot can be used by 0-year-olds only (0才児), while its rental page, dated November 2023, says up to age 1 for safety (安全上1才まで). The pages disagree, so ask which one applies on your stay date.
- "Cannot pull up to stand" is the real limit. The View Hotel ties the cot to infants under 1 who cannot yet pull themselves up (つかまり立ちができない). A 10-month-old who already stands holding furniture can be outside the rule even when the month number fits.
- Room type shows up as a limit, not a promise. The View Hotel, Keio Plaza and Sapporo Grand all say some rooms cannot take a cot, and none lists them. The Grand repeats the warning on each room page we opened (Well-being Deluxe Twin, Standard Family, Super Suite), without saying whether that particular room is on the list. So an inquiry has to name the exact room you want.
Older children are a different tool. Sapporo Grand lists a free bed guard (ベッドガード, 129cm × 44cm × 44cm) for roughly 18 months to 5 years, and a baby playpen (ベビーサークル) for 5 months to 3 years 6 months, offered only in rooms of 62m² or larger. A bed guard stops a child rolling out of an adult bed; it is not a cot. For wider family-hotel choices around the city see Sapporo Hotels for Families.
What to Ask When You Book
Because no page ties a cot to a room name, the useful move is to put the request in writing at booking, with the baby's age in months on the stay date and the exact room type you chose. Copy one of these into the comments box or an email:
- ベビーベッドの貸出を希望します(○月○日・1台・生後○か月)。 ("I would like to borrow a baby cot: date, one unit, baby is ○ months old.")
- 予約した客室タイプにベビーベッドを置けますか? ("Can a baby cot be placed in the room type I booked?")
- まだつかまり立ちはしません。 ("The baby does not pull up to stand yet.")
- ベビーベッドの料金と台数を教えてください。 ("Please tell me the fee and how many cots you have.")
Ask for a written reply and show it at check-in. Phone numbers printed on the official pages are 011-261-3324 for the Grand's reservations desk and 011-241-1111 for Sapporo Prince; for Keio Plaza it is 011-271-0111 (the number printed on Keio Plaza's service and plan pages). FAQ: Baby Cots in Sapporo Hotels
How old can a baby be to use a cot at a Sapporo hotel?
It depends on the hotel. Sapporo View Hotel Odori Park and Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo limit the cot to babies under about 1 year, and the View Hotel adds that the baby must not yet pull up to stand. Sapporo Grand Hotel's cot is for ages 0 to 2. Sapporo Prince's FAQ says 0-year-olds only while its rental page says up to age 1 (checked October 2026).
Is a baby cot free in Sapporo hotels?
At three of the five hotels checked it is free: Sapporo View Hotel Odori Park, Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo and Sapporo Prince Hotel. Sapporo Grand Hotel charges ¥1,600 per night including tax, and Premier Hotel Nakajima Park Sapporo lists ¥3,300 per stay including tax.
Can I choose a Sapporo room type that comes with a cot?
No hotel page names the rooms. Three of the five hotels say that room type or layout limits the cot, and none lists the rooms. The one exception is a Keio Plaza family plan whose page puts the cot in an 11th-floor Standard Large Twin of 33.2m² with two 120cm beds; the plan is stated for 1–2 adults with children under school age, and you should confirm it is on sale for your dates.
How big is the cot at Sapporo Grand Hotel and Keio Plaza Sapporo?
The Grand's cot measures 80cm wide, 130cm long and 90cm high. Keio Plaza's is about 110cm long and 60cm wide, which fits its "about one year and under" rule.
