Tokyo hotels with washer dryer in room are mostly Tokyu Stay branches and two MIMARU Suites properties: the machine is part of the room you book, not a coin laundry down the hall, and which rooms have it depends on the branch and the room type, not the brand. Tokyu Stay Shibuya lists a washer-dryer (洗濯乾燥機) on all six of its room types, and MIMARU SUITES Tokyo Asakusa lists an in-room washer-dryer for every room it sells, all two-bedroom suites. The catch: at Tokyu Stay Meguro-Yutenji two of the four room types have none, and at two MIMARU branches only rooms with "Suite" in the name do, so check the room type before you pay (checked October 2026).

Three Kinds of Laundry, and Only One Is a Room Feature

An in-room washer-dryer means a machine inside your own room that both washes and dries, which is the only kind this article counts. A floor-shared machine sits in a corridor or a laundry corner and is used in turns with other guests, and a coin laundry is a separate room, usually on a lower floor or in the building next door. Hotel sites mix the three freely under the single word "laundry", so a facilities list that says "coin laundry" tells you nothing about your room.

The distinction that matters at booking is whether the machine belongs to a room type you can select. That is what the table below records. Serviced-apartment brands are a different product and are covered in our serviced apartments guide; this page stays with hotels that sell a room with the machine inside.

Of the 6 hotels in the table, 4 list an in-room washer-dryer on every room type they sell, and the other 2 limit it to specific types (checked October 2026). We kept the list to six branches with a machine named on the official page; other Tokyu Stay branches, such as Shinjuku Eastside and Nishi-Shinjuku, also list 洗濯乾燥機 on the room types we read, but they sit in areas the table already covers.

What Counts as a Guarantee Here

A guarantee means the washer-dryer is printed on the page for the exact room type you tick during booking, not on the hotel's general facilities list. Every row above meets that test, which is why the column reads Bookable. Where the hotel only says "available in select rooms", we did not call it a guarantee.

Two findings are worth knowing before you search. First, the Tokyu Stay brand page describes the chain as having "洗濯乾燥機付きの客室がある", rooms with a washer-dryer, which is a statement about some rooms. The branch pages say more, and they disagree with each other: Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ikebukuro list it on all types, while Meguro-Yutenji leaves two types without. English-language summaries that say "Tokyu Stay has laundry in every room" are therefore wrong for at least one branch.

Second, MIMARU is often described as a brand where every room has laundry. Its own English FAQ says otherwise: in-room machines are limited to "rooms with 'Suite' in the name" at Tokyo Station East and Ikebukuro (at Tokyo Station East, four of the eight Suite types can no longer be reserved after November 1, 2026), and to all rooms at SUITES Tokyo Asakusa and SUITES Tokyo Nihonbashi. Coin laundries are described as available 24 hours at almost all other locations.

Detergent, Drying Time and Night Use

None of the official pages we read say whether laundry detergent is supplied. The Tokyu Stay room pages do not mention it, and MIMARU's pages list dish detergent and bath toiletries but not laundry detergent. My own stays fill part of that gap: at Tokyu Stay the detergent was already in the room (Kao Attack ZERO, a common Japanese brand), and at MIMARU there was none in the room, but the front desk gave me some when I asked. That is what I found, not a written promise, so if detergent matters, ask when you book. Drying time and quiet hours for the machines are not published either, so treat both as Unknown and ask the hotel. Nor do the pages give a fee for using an in-room machine.

Size is the other constraint. A 15m² Tokyu Stay room with a washer-dryer is workable for one or two people but leaves little floor to hang clothes; our room-size guide explains what these areas feel like. Bed widths on the Tokyu Stay pages are given in millimetres, converted here to centimetres: 160cm is a queen, 180cm a king, and 110cm a single, so a "Twin" is two narrow beds (see twin vs double).

How to Ask When You Book

Most booking sites let you choose a room type but filter poorly on "washer-dryer", so match the type name against the table, then send one line to the hotel. Useful Japanese lines:

  • 洗濯乾燥機付きの客室でお願いします。 ("A room with an in-room washer-dryer, please.")
  • 洗濯用の洗剤は用意されていますか? ("Is laundry detergent provided?")
  • 洗濯乾燥機は何時まで使えますか? ("Until what time can the washer-dryer be used?")

More questions worth sending before arrival are collected in what to ask before you book.

Connecting rooms are a separate question and are not covered here. If a neighbourhood matters more than the machine, start from Shinjuku, Shibuya or Ikebukuro.

FAQ: Tokyo Hotels With a Washer-Dryer in the Room

Does every Tokyu Stay room in Tokyo have a washer-dryer?

No. Tokyu Stay Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ikebukuro list 洗濯乾燥機 on every room type we read, but at Tokyu Stay Meguro-Yutenji the 18m² Standard Double and the ground-floor Universal Room list none (checked October 2026). Always read the room-type page for the branch.

Which MIMARU hotels in Tokyo have a washer-dryer in the room?

According to MIMARU's English FAQ, MIMARU SUITES Tokyo Asakusa and SUITES Tokyo Nihonbashi have one in all rooms, while MIMARU Tokyo Station East and Ikebukuro have one only in room types with "Suite" in the name. At Tokyo Station East, four of the eight Suite types can no longer be reserved after November 1, 2026, so only the other four remain bookable. Other Tokyo branches point guests to coin laundry.

Is laundry detergent provided?

The official pages do not say. In my own stays, Tokyu Stay had detergent (Kao Attack ZERO) in the room, and MIMARU handed some over at the front desk when I asked. Neither is written policy, so ask when you book if you need it.

How big are the rooms that include a washer-dryer?

From 15m² (Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Superior Queen, 160cm bed) up to 74m² (MIMARU SUITES Tokyo Asakusa two-bedroom suites, up to 4 adults and 2 children). For four people, the Tokyu Stay Shinjuku 3chome Collective Twin at 39m² (4 guests, with a washer-dryer) is the smallest room in the table that lists 4 guests; the Shibuya Residential Family is 40m².
