Tokyo Christmas Markets 2026: Azabudai, Roppongi or Shiba Park?
Tokyo Christmas markets 2026: dates, entry fees and station exits for Azabudai Hills, Roppongi Hills, Shiba Park and Shin-Toyosu, plus where to sleep.
For Tokyo Christmas markets 2026, pick Azabudai Hills if you want the easiest evening: its market runs Nov 21 to Dec 25 at the Central Plaza, 11:00-21:00, and entry is free. Choose the Tokyo Christmas Market at Shiba Park (Dec 4-25, ticketed at ¥1,000 for adults on weekdays) if you want the ticketed market run by the Tokyo Christmas Market organiser, whose supporters include the German National Tourist Office. Sleep at Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo Roppongi, which connects directly to Roppongi-itchome Station Exit 2, for the Azabudai and Roppongi Hills pair, or at Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills if Shiba Park is your main stop. One change to know about: the Tokyo Christmas Market's 2026 venues are Shin-Toyosu and Shiba Park, not Jingu Gaien.
Tokyo's Christmas markets in 2026 at a glance
Four Christmas markets in Tokyo had 2026 dates on their official pages when we checked in October 2026, and they differ more in cost and location than in what they sell. The table below uses only what each organiser or venue page states.
| Market | Venue | 2026 dates and hours | Entry | Nearest station and exit | Where to sleep |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Azabudai Hills Christmas Market | Central Plaza, Azabudai Hills | Nov 21-Dec 25, 11:00-21:00 | Free entry | Kamiyacho Station Exit 5 or Roppongi-itchome Station Exit 4 (both directly connected to the complex) | Roppongi-itchome / Kamiyacho |
| Roppongi Hills Christmas Market | Oyane Plaza, Roppongi Hills | Nov 21-Dec 25, 11:00-21:00 | No fee listed on the official page | Roppongi Station; the official access page shows routes as maps only | Roppongi |
| Tokyo Christmas Market in Shiba Park | Onarimon Station plaza, Shiba Park No. 4 area | Dec 4-25, 11:00-22:00 (opens 16:00 on day one) | Ticketed: adults ¥1,000 weekdays, ¥1,500 weekends, ¥2,000 on Dec 24-25 | Onarimon Station (Toei Mita Line) Exit A6, 1-min walk | Toranomon / Kamiyacho |
| Tokyo Christmas Market in Shin-Toyosu | Toyosu 6-4, Koto | Nov 20-Dec 25, 11:00-21:30 (opens 16:00 on day one) | Ticketed: adults ¥1,000 weekdays, ¥1,500 weekends and holidays, ¥2,000 on Dec 24-25 | Shin-Toyosu Station (Yurikamome), 2-min walk | Toyosu / Shimbashi side |
Last entry is 21:00 at Shiba Park and 20:30 at Shin-Toyosu, so arrive before dinner rather than after it. Children in elementary school pay ¥500 (¥1,000 on Dec 24-25) at the two ticketed sites, and preschoolers are free. Pricing and hours come from the organiser's pages, Shiba Park and Shin-Toyosu.
Azabudai Hills Christmas Market
The Azabudai Hills Christmas Market runs from Nov 21 to Dec 25, 2026, daily from 11:00 to 21:00, in the complex's Central Plaza. The official Christmas Hills page gives one set of hours with no separate weekend times, and entry is free. It does not say how many stalls take part, so we do not state a number.
Stations are the easy part. The complex's access page lists Kamiyacho Station (Hibiya Line) Exit 5 and Roppongi-itchome Station (Namboku Line) Exit 4 as directly connected, so you can arrive without going outside. The same program also lights Sakura-asa Street and puts a Christmas installation on the plaza in front of Kamiyacho Station, both from Nov 21 to Dec 25.
Tokyo Christmas Market: Shiba Park and Shin-Toyosu, not Jingu Gaien
The Tokyo Christmas Market organiser lists two 2026 venues, Shiba Park from Dec 4 and a new site at Shin-Toyosu from Nov 20, and Meiji Jingu Gaien does not appear among them. If an older guide sends you to Jingu Gaien, follow the organiser's current pages instead; for the other markets in Japan, see Christmas markets in Japan 2026.
Shiba Park is the closer of the two to central Tokyo. The venue is the plaza in front of Onarimon Station, a 1-min walk from Exit A6 of the Toei Mita Line. The official access list also gives Kamiyacho Station (Hibiya Line) Exit 3 at 10 minutes, Daimon Station (Toei Oedo Line) Exit A6 at 10 minutes, and Hamamatsucho Station (JR) North Exit at 12 minutes. The organiser warns that the nearest station is not Shiba-koen Station, which is an easy mistake to make.
Shin-Toyosu is the longer-running option in 2026, open 36 days against 22 at Shiba Park, and it is the only one of the four reached by the Yurikamome line: Shin-Toyosu Station is a 2-min walk and Shijo-mae Station is 3 minutes. The organiser lists Toyosu Station on the Yurakucho Line at 15 minutes, which is a long walk in December, so use the Yurikamome. Advance tickets that include a mug for adults are sold through KKday, linked from the organiser's site. The organiser says entry can be limited when the venue is crowded.
Roppongi Hills and the other markets
Roppongi Hills holds its own Christmas Market at Oyane Plaza from Nov 21 to Dec 25, 11:00-21:00, according to the Roppongi Hills Christmas page. It lists no entry fee. The Keyakizaka illumination, "SNOW & BLUE", runs Nov 5 to Dec 25 from 17:00 to 22:00 along Keyakizaka Street, so it starts well before the market and is the better reason to visit in early November.
Roppongi Hills and Azabudai Hills belong to the same developer's Christmas Hills program, which is why their dates and hours match. We left out other Tokyo events because we could not confirm 2026 dates for them on an official page. For restaurants in the same weeks, see when to book Christmas dinner in Tokyo, and for lights elsewhere see our winter illuminations guide.
Two markets in one night
The realistic one-night pair is Azabudai Hills and Roppongi Hills, because both open at 11:00 and close at 21:00 and neither charges a listed entry fee. Neither page states a walking distance between them, so check a map before you commit.
Pairing a Hills market with a ticketed one is possible on weekday evenings at Shiba Park, which stays open until 22:00. Kamiyacho Station serves both: it is directly connected to Azabudai Hills at Exit 5, and Exit 3 is the 10-min walk to Shiba Park. If you want the Yurikamome market too, treat it as its own evening, because Shin-Toyosu is across the bay.
What we could confirm in October 2026
Of the 4 Tokyo Christmas markets in the table, all 4 had confirmed 2026 dates on an official page, and 2 charged an admission fee when we checked in October 2026. Azabudai Hills is free to enter; the Roppongi Hills page lists no fee, but a missing line is not the same as a promise of free entry, so read that page again before you travel. Venue lists can still change, so recheck the organiser's site in the week you go.
Where to stay for each market
Stay near the market you will visit most, and pick the station before the hotel, because the Hibiya Line links most of these sites. The table lists the two hotels from our checked list that sit on that line or its connections; we do not quote prices because rates in the Christmas weeks are not comparable with ordinary dates.
| Base area | Hotel | Nearest station and exit | Market it suits | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Roppongi-itchome | Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo Roppongi | Roppongi-itchome Station Exit 2, directly connected; Kamiyacho Station Exit 4b, 11-min walk | Azabudai Hills and Roppongi Hills | Arriving by Namboku Line without going outside |
| Toranomon | Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills | Toranomon Hills Station (Hibiya Line), directly connected to the complex per the Toranomon Hills access page | Shiba Park, reached via Kamiyacho Station Exit 3 (10-min walk from there) | A splurge base that keeps you on one train line |
| Toyosu / Shin-Toyosu | None from our checked list | Shin-Toyosu Station, 2-min walk to the market | Shin-Toyosu | Choose any hotel near the Yurikamome line |
For the Roppongi side, our Roppongi area guide covers more hotels, and the Roppongi Station exits guide explains which exit to use at that big station. If your trip is to Hokkaido instead, the Sapporo Christmas market guide picks hotels by walking distance from Odori Park.

FAQ: Tokyo Christmas markets 2026
When do the Tokyo Christmas markets open in 2026?
Shin-Toyosu opens first, on Nov 20, and Azabudai Hills and Roppongi Hills follow on Nov 21; all of them run to Dec 25. The Shiba Park market of the Tokyo Christmas Market starts later, on Dec 4. This is from the organiser and venue pages, checked in October 2026.
Do I need a ticket for the Tokyo Christmas markets?
The Tokyo Christmas Market at Shiba Park and Shin-Toyosu is ticketed: adults pay ¥1,000 on weekdays, ¥1,500 on weekends, and ¥2,000 on Dec 24-25. Elementary school children pay ¥500 (¥1,000 on Dec 24-25) and preschoolers are free. Azabudai Hills is free to enter, and the Roppongi Hills page lists no entry fee.
Is the Tokyo Christmas Market still at Jingu Gaien?
No. The organiser's 2026 pages list Shin-Toyosu (Nov 20-Dec 25) and Shiba Park (Dec 4-25), and Jingu Gaien is not among them. Use Onarimon Station Exit A6 for Shiba Park and Shin-Toyosu Station on the Yurikamome line for the new site.
Which Tokyo Christmas market should I pick if I only have one night?
Choose Azabudai Hills if you want a free market with a direct train connection: Kamiyacho Station Exit 5 or Roppongi-itchome Station Exit 4. Choose Shiba Park if you want a ticketed German-style market and are visiting after Dec 4, with Onarimon Station Exit A6 one minute away.
