GREEN×EXPO 2027 runs from March 19 to September 26, 2027, at the former Kamiseya communications site in Yokohama — roughly 100 hectares of gardens, green spaces, and outdoor experiences. The venue has almost no hotels nearby — you pick a base and commute in. For families, the commute question weighs heavily: reliable access, manageable journey times with young children, and a base with space and amenities after a long day out.

Machida is the first recommendation for families. The town is quieter than Shin-Yokohama, rooms tend toward larger configurations at mid-range prices, and food and shopping options around the station are extensive. The Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line connects to Minami-machida Grandberry Park Station — a confirmed shuttle departure point (expo association, 17 July 2026). One train line plus one shuttle, no maze of transfers.

A well-documented Machida option is Rembrandt Hotel Tokyo Machida — operating as of mid-2026, 2-min walk from JR Machida Station, with family-oriented room policies including child-sized slippers and nursing facilities. Shin-Yokohama is the second option — better if you're arriving by Shinkansen. Hotel Associa Shin-Yokohama closed for renovation in mid-2026 and reopens as Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Yokohama Station in December 2026, with new connecting rooms for families. Check availability. Getting There with Kids: Confirmed Shuttle Details (July 2026)

There is no train station at the venue. All visitors take a shuttle bus from one of four confirmed departure stations, announced by the expo association on 17 July 2026.

• Seya (瀬谷) — Sotetsu Main Line — ~2 km / ~10-min bus ride. Closest option.
• Mitsukyo (三ツ境) — Sotetsu Main Line — ~4 km.
• Minami-machida Grandberry Park (南町田グランベリーパーク) — Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line — ~4 km. Natural connection from Machida.
• Tokaichiba (十日市場) — JR Yokohama Line — ~6 km / ~25-min bus. Accessible from Shin-Yokohama via JR Yokohama Line.

Pre-booking is required for both outbound and return shuttle trips. The reservation system opens 2026-09-18 — the same date as entry reservations, but a separate system. The expo association will direct visitors from the entry booking to the transport booking. Fares (one-way): adults ¥200, children ages 1–11 ¥100, disabled adults ¥100 / children ¥50.
