Tokyo hotels with two double beds in one room are rarer than the search filters suggest: across the hotels we checked, only five publish a bed width of 140cm or more for both beds, and only one of them sleeps four. For a family of four, The Prince Park Tower Tokyo's Garden Suite C ([see rooms](https://www.trip.com/hotels/tokyo-hotel-detail-688621/the-prince-park-tower-tokyo/?Allianceid=9711325&SID=327049682&trip%5Fsub1=tokyo-hotels-two-double-beds&trip%5Fsub3=D19778432&ref=nipponstays.com)) lists two 140cm × 203cm beds with a capacity of four. For two or three guests, DoubleTree by Hilton Tokyo Ariake ([see rooms](https://www.trip.com/hotels/tokyo-hotel-detail-19889495/doubletree-by-hilton-tokyo-ariake/?Allianceid=9711325&SID=327049682&trip%5Fsub1=tokyo-hotels-two-double-beds&trip%5Fsub3=D20262461&ref=nipponstays.com)) is the only hotel here that actually names the room "two double beds" (ダブルベッド2台), with a cap of three. The answer changes if you need four people on real beds in a regular-size room: none of the five publishes that.

## Two Queens in Japan Means Two Beds at 140cm or Wider, Whatever the Room Is Called

In Japan, a "double" bed is usually 140cm wide, a "queen" is 160cm, a "king" is 180cm or more, and a "twin" is two single beds that are often only 100–120cm wide. The US idea of a room with two queens therefore rarely appears under that name. At most hotels the closest match is a twin room whose beds happen to be 140cm each, and you only find out by reading the bed-size line on the Japanese room page.

This article keeps one test: both beds must be 140cm or wider on the hotel's own page. Rooms with 100–120cm twin beds, Hollywood twins (two beds pushed together) and sofa-bed setups are left out; our guide to [twin, Hollywood twin and double widths](https://www.nipponstays.com/twin-vs-hollywood-twin-vs-double-japan/) covers those. Connecting rooms are a separate question and are not covered here.

## Where "Two Double Beds" Is a Promise and Where It Is Only a Bed Width

Of the five Tokyo hotels in the table, only DoubleTree by Hilton Tokyo Ariake sells the configuration under a name that says "two double beds"; the other four sell it as a twin or suite whose bed width happens to be 140cm, and only one of the five lists a capacity of four (checked October 2026).

That difference decides what you can rely on. At DoubleTree Ariake, the room name itself fixes the bed type, so a reservation for the "two double beds" room is a reservation for two 140cm beds. At Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro, Hotel Sardonyx Tokyo and Tokyo Inn, the room is named "twin", and the 140cm width is a line in the spec. It is still a bookable room type, but make sure you pick the exact room name from the table, because the same hotels also sell twins with 110–120cm beds, and a booking site that only says "Twin Room" does not tell you which one you get.

Capacity is the second limit. Three of the five cap the room at two or three guests, so "two big beds" does not mean "room for four". The Prince Park Tower's Garden Suite C is a suite (76.0m²), and the same hotel's Garden Suite A has the same 140cm pair with a capacity of six, while Garden Suites B and D have 120cm beds. Hotel Metropolitan's own English page also describes its Ambassador Suite as having a 200cm king bed while its spec line shows two 140cm beds; because the two lines disagree, we left that suite out and would ask the hotel before relying on it.

Children are counted differently from hotel to hotel. DoubleTree Ariake states that children under 12 who share a bed with an adult stay free, children 12 and over are charged and counted as adults, and an extra bed costs extra (the page gives no figure). Tokyo Inn's page states that up to two children under three can share in Twin Room B. Hotel Sardonyx Tokyo's and Hotel Metropolitan's room pages do not publish a co-sleeping rule that we found. If that matters, ask the hotel before booking: the age limit, how many children per bed, and whether a fee applies.

## What to Ask When You Book

Choosing the room by its exact Japanese or English name on the booking page is more reliable than ticking a "2 beds" filter, because the filter does not separate 100cm beds from 140cm beds. If the booking site does not show the bed width, a short message to the hotel settles it. These phrases match the wording used on the hotel pages above:

- **ダブルベッド2台のお部屋をお願いします（ツインではなく）。** ("A room with two double beds, please, not a twin.") Use this at DoubleTree Ariake to confirm the room type.
- **ベッド幅は2台とも140cm以上ですか？** ("Are both beds 140cm or wider?") Use this at any hotel whose room name says twin.
- **大人2名と子ども2名（○歳・○歳）で、1室で泊まれますか？** ("Can two adults and two children, aged X and Y, stay in one room?") Ask this before choosing any room with a capacity of three or less.

## If Your Situation Is Different

This article covers one condition only: two beds of 140cm or wider in a single room. If your group or your priority is different, these pages answer a separate question.

## FAQ: Tokyo Hotels With Two Double Beds

### Does any Tokyo hotel sell a room with two queen beds?

None of the five hotels we checked lists a 160cm queen pair in one room. The widest pairs on their official pages are 140cm beds: The Prince Park Tower Tokyo's Garden Suite C (140cm × 203cm, capacity 4), DoubleTree by Hilton Tokyo Ariake's Deluxe Room (140cm × 203cm, capacity 3) and Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro's Executive Deluxe Twin (140cm × 200cm, capacity 2).

### Can a family of four share a room with two double beds in Tokyo?

Only in the Prince Park Tower's Garden Suite C among these five (capacity 4, 76.0m²), or its larger Garden Suite A (capacity 6). DoubleTree by Hilton Tokyo Ariake's two-double-bed Deluxe Room is capped at 3, and children aged 12 and over count as adults there.

### How wide is a double bed in a Japanese hotel?

The hotel pages above give 140cm for a double and the common Japanese range is 140cm for a double, 160cm for a queen and 180cm for a king. Twin beds in the same hotels are often 110–120cm, such as the 110cm and 120cm twins listed at Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro, so read the width, not the room name.

### Which of these hotels publishes a rule for a small child sharing a bed?

Tokyo Inn states that up to two children under three can share in its Twin Room B, and DoubleTree by Hilton Tokyo Ariake states that children under 12 sharing an adult's bed stay free. Hotel Sardonyx Tokyo and Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro did not publish a co-sleeping rule on the room pages we checked, so ask them for the age limit and the number of children per bed.
