For Tokyo hotels with a baby cot, the answer depends on your baby's age more than on the room you pick, because none of the five hotels below publishes a list of cot-eligible room types. Shinagawa Prince Hotel ([Book Shinagawa Prince](https://www.trip.com/hotels/tokyo-hotel-detail-994895/shinagawa-prince-hotel/?Allianceid=9711325&SID=327049682&trip%5Fsub1=tokyo-hotels-baby-cot-room-types&trip%5Fsub3=D19805585&ref=nipponstays.com)) is the only one in our research that states the cot is free, covers the Main and Annex towers, and takes the request in the booking form's comments box, for babies under 24 months who cannot yet pull themselves up. Hotel New Otani Tokyo ([Book Hotel New Otani Tokyo](https://www.trip.com/hotels/tokyo-hotel-detail-2294281/hotel-new-otani-tokyo-the-main/?Allianceid=9711325&SID=327049682&trip%5Fsub1=tokyo-hotels-baby-cot-room-types&trip%5Fsub3=D20262489&ref=nipponstays.com)) does not name a fee or room types but sets the limit at under 18 months. The condition that changes the answer is age: Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo stops at 10 months, so a baby of 11 months needs a different hotel.

## Five Tokyo Hotels That Put a Cot Policy in Writing

We checked the Japanese guest-information and FAQ pages of the larger central Tokyo hotels in October 2026 and kept five that publish at least an age limit for the cot. The five sit in Shinagawa, Shiba, Chiyoda and Nishi-Shinjuku, so the table is not weighted toward one neighbourhood. Hotels whose official pages said nothing about a cot, or that sent us to a phone line only, are left out rather than guessed at.

Of the five hotels above, three publish a month limit for the cot (10, 18 and 24 months), one states it is free, and none lists the room types that can take one (checked October 2026). That last gap is the reason this page is built around age and booking method rather than room names.

## What “Bookable” Means for a Cot in Tokyo

For a cot, the three levels we use across this series mean something narrower than they do for a bed. **Bookable** would be a room category you can pick on the booking screen because it comes with a cot. We found no Tokyo hotel that sells it that way. **Guaranteed on request** would be a written promise that a cot will be in the room. No hotel above makes that promise: every page says supply is limited (“数に限りがございます”). **Subject to availability** is therefore where all five land, with Shinagawa Prince and the New Otani pages at least telling you how to put your name in the queue.

Three details on the pages matter more than the hotel name.

- **The age ceiling is a safety rule, not a service level.** Shinagawa Prince says the cot is for babies “つかまり立ちの出来ない、生後24ヶ月未満” (under 24 months and not yet pulling up). Hotel New Otani Tokyo says “生後18か月未満” and asks parents to keep watching a baby who is starting to pull up. Keio Plaza says “つかまり立ちをしない10か月まで”. A 14-month-old who walks along furniture can fall outside all three even when the month number fits.
- **Room type is mentioned only as a limit.** Keio Plaza states that a cot may not be available in some room types (“一部お部屋タイプではご用意できない場合がございます”) without naming them. Its separate “赤ちゃんごきげんプラン” for under-3s is limited as a whole to rooms with a washing area in the bathroom (“洗い場付きのバスルームがあるお部屋限定”). That condition is stated for the plan, not for the cot, but it shows the hotel does think in room types, so ask which rooms are excluded.
- **Tower scope.** Shinagawa Prince’s FAQ names only the Main and Annex towers. It says nothing about the East Tower or N Tower, so treat those as Unknown and confirm before booking them.

Fees are the other blank. Only Shinagawa Prince says “無料” outright (checked October 2026). The other four pages we read state no charge and no price, which is not the same as free. Ask before you arrive.

## What to Ask When You Book

Because the pages do not tie a cot to a room, the useful move is to put the request in writing at the time of booking, with your baby’s age in months on the stay date. Copy one of these into the comments box or an email:

- **ベビーベッドの貸出を希望します（○月○日・1台・生後○か月）。** (“I would like to borrow a baby cot: date, one unit, baby is ○ months old.”)
- **まだつかまり立ちはしません。** (“The baby does not pull up to stand yet.”)
- **ベビーベッドを置けない客室タイプはありますか？** (“Are there room types where a cot cannot be placed?”)
- **ベビーベッドの利用に追加料金はかかりますか？** (“Is there an extra charge for the cot?”)

Ask for a written reply, then take it to check-in. For the wider list of questions worth asking a Japanese hotel with a baby, see [What to Ask a Japanese Hotel Before Bringing a Baby](https://www.nipponstays.com/what-to-ask-japanese-hotel-before-bringing-baby/).

Connecting rooms are a separate question and are not covered here.

## FAQ: Baby Cots in Tokyo Hotels

### How old can a baby be to use a hotel cot in Tokyo?

It depends on the hotel. Shinagawa Prince Hotel allows babies under 24 months who cannot pull up to stand, Hotel New Otani Tokyo under 18 months, and Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo up to 10 months. The Prince Park Tower Tokyo and Tokyo Prince Hotel give no month number and say only that the baby must not yet pull up to stand (all checked October 2026).

### Is the cot free at Tokyo hotels?

Shinagawa Prince Hotel states it is free (“無料”). Hotel New Otani Tokyo, Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo, The Prince Park Tower Tokyo and Tokyo Prince Hotel state no fee on the pages we read, so confirm the charge when you request it.

### Can I choose a room type that comes with a cot?

No hotel in the table lets you select a cot-ready room type. Keio Plaza says some room types cannot take a cot but does not list them, and the other four pages name no room types. Request the cot in the booking comments or by phone and ask the hotel to confirm the room in writing.

### Does a baby over the cot limit need a bed guard instead?

Hotel New Otani Tokyo lists a bed guard (ベッドガード) for children aged 18 to 60 months, directly after the 18-month cot limit. Shinagawa Prince also lists a bed guard, for ages 18 to 60 months. A bed guard stops a child rolling out of an adult bed; it is not a cot.
