Tokyo Disney school trip season is not something the resort publishes, but it does sell a School Special Passport for school trips and excursions, so school groups are a normal part of the park's guest mix. Nationally, October, November and December are when Japanese high schools travel most (64.4% of trips, Japan School Excursion Association FY2024), and Chiba Prefecture, where the resort sits, ranked 5th among destinations that year (8.6% of recorded trips). From October to December 2026 the passport can be used only on weekdays, excluding national holidays, November 2 and December 21–31, so the school groups it brings form a weekday layer in this season. If you'd rather have a guaranteed ticket purchase (arranged in advance with the hotel) and a free shuttle to Bayside Station on the Disney Resort Line, an Official Hotel such as [Hilton Tokyo Bay](https://www.trip.com/hotels/urayasu-hotel-detail-926340/hilton-tokyo-bay/?Allianceid=9711325&SID=327049682&trip%5Fsub1=tokyo-disney-school-trip-season-weekdays&trip%5Fsub3=D19429321&ref=nipponstays.com) does that — though it does not include the early "Happy Entry" perk, reserved for the Disney-branded hotels.

## Who is in the park: what Oriental Land publishes

Oriental Land Co., the resort's operator, does not break out how many junior-high or high-school students visit Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in a given month — its investor-relations and sustainability pages report attendance totals and guest-satisfaction scores, not an age or grade breakdown, as of this check (October 2026).

What the company does publish is a school-trip programme rather than a school-trip number. Its [school-programme pages](https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/treasure/school/?ref=nipponstays.com) describe a School Special Passport offering group-rate admission for school trips and excursions, a printed guide for chaperoning teachers, classroom-style "Learning Sheets" tied to specific attractions and exhibits, and an optional "Disney Academy" session. Groups of 25 or more, chaperones included, also qualify for a discounted fare on the resort's monorail, the Disney Resort Line. The passport is restricted to a school's official curriculum trip with teaching staff as chaperones, and the mail-in application window runs from 60 to 31 days before the visit date, per the [School Special Passport page](https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/treasure/school/ticket.html?ref=nipponstays.com). None of that says how many school groups are in the park on a given Tuesday in November — it says only that the resort has a standing system built to receive them.

| Month | High-school trips by month (JSTB, FY2024, entries) | Share of the year |
| ----------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------- | ----------------- |
| October | 238 | 22.6% |
| November | 211 | 20.0% |
| December | 230 | 21.8% |
| Rest of the year (Apr–Sep, Jan–Mar) | 375 | 35.6% |

These are national counts covering all of the high schools that responded to the [Japan School Excursion Association's FY2024 survey (published November 2025)](https://jstb.or.jp/files/libs/5750/202511041016529511.pdf?ref=nipponstays.com), not a Tokyo Disney Resort–specific figure — the resort does not publish its own equivalent. Chiba Prefecture, where the resort is located, ranked 5th among destinations nationally that year (8.6% of recorded trips), but the survey does not say how many of those Chiba trips came to this resort specifically, and this figure does not convert into a park-level number.

## Why autumn weekdays are different

School excursions happen on school days, which in Japan means weekdays. The resort's own School Special Passport calendar bears that out for this season: from October to December 2026 it lists no Saturday, Sunday or national holiday as a valid date, and it also leaves out November 2 and December 21–31 ([tokyodisneyresort.jp](https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/treasure/school/ticket/calendar.html?ref=nipponstays.com), checked October 2026). Layered on top of that, the resort is busier in autumn for reasons that have nothing to do with schools: Disney Halloween runs September 16 to October 31, 2026, and Disney Christmas runs November 11 to December 25, 2026, both [officially listed on the resort's event pages](https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/tdl/event.html?ref=nipponstays.com). Three national holidays also fall in the window — Sports Day on October 12, Culture Day on November 3, and Labor Thanksgiving Day on November 23, 2026, per the Cabinet Office's holiday list — and Japanese visitors who are off work or school that day add to a Monday or Tuesday that would otherwise be quieter.

No published source measures wait times or crowd size by day. What can be said is which layers stack on which weeks: a school-trip-heavy month — October, November or December, per the table above — that also contains a holiday or falls inside the Halloween or Christmas run sees more of the calendar's pressures at once than a plain October Tuesday with none of them does.

## What to do with it: day choice and hotel

Schools travel on school days, so the school-trip layer is a weekday layer; weekends have their own, larger crowd of Japanese leisure visitors, and neither is published as a number. The passport calendar is consistent with that split for October–December; it does not count how many groups come on any day. Halloween, Christmas and any national holiday still apply on a weekend, so picking a weekend does not clear those layers. For the separate question of getting inside before the general gates open, see our [early-entry hotel guide](https://www.nipponstays.com/tokyo-disney-early-entry-which-hotels/); that lever runs on which hotel you book, not on the day of the week.

Where to sleep is a decision the resort's own hotel tiers already answer. The gap between the Disney-branded hotels (Happy Entry included) and the Official Hotels — Hilton Tokyo Bay, Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay and Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay among them, with [on-site ticket purchase arranged through the hotel in advance](https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/hotel/hotel%5Fprivilege.html?ref=nipponstays.com) and a free shuttle to Bayside Station on the Disney Resort Line but no [Happy Entry](https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/hotel/topics/info/happy%5Fentry.html?ref=nipponstays.com) — is covered in our [Maihama hotel comparison](https://www.nipponstays.com/maihama-vs-central-tokyo-for-disney/), and family room configurations are in our [family hotel guide](https://www.nipponstays.com/tokyo-disney-resort-hotels-for-families/). If Kyoto, Nara or Osaka are also on the itinerary the same week, our [school-trip season hub](https://www.nipponstays.com/japan-school-trip-season-autumn/) has the national picture and links to the other cities.

## FAQ: Tokyo Disney in school trip season

### When is school trip season at Tokyo Disney Resort?

Nationally, October, November and December are the three heaviest months for Japanese high-school trips, together accounting for 64% of the 1,054 domestic trip entries the Japan School Excursion Association recorded in its FY2024 survey, published November 2025 (238 in October, 211 in November, 230 in December). Chiba Prefecture, where the resort is located, ranked 5th among destinations that year, at 8.6% of all recorded trips.

### Does Tokyo Disney Resort officially accept school groups?

Yes. The resort runs a School Special Passport with group-rate admission for school trips and excursions, publishes a teacher's guide and classroom "Learning Sheets," and offers an optional "Disney Academy" session, according to its own school-programme pages (checked October 2026). Groups of 25 or more, chaperones included, also get a discounted fare on the Disney Resort Line monorail.

### What else is happening at the resort in autumn 2026?

Disney Halloween runs September 16 to October 31, 2026, and Disney Christmas runs November 11 to December 25, 2026, both officially listed on Tokyo Disney Resort's event pages. Three national holidays also fall in the window: Sports Day (October 12), Culture Day (November 3) and Labor Thanksgiving Day (November 23), per the Cabinet Office's 2026 holiday list.

### Does an Official Hotel include early entry?

No — early entry ("Happy Entry") is reserved for the Disney-branded hotels, not the Official Hotels, according to the resort's own Happy Entry page. Staying at an Official Hotel such as Hilton Tokyo Bay lets you buy park tickets on-site if you arrange it with the hotel in advance, even on days when the official website is sold out, and gives you a free shuttle to Bayside Station on the Disney Resort Line — but it opens to the parks at the same time as anyone else holding a ticket bought in advance.
