# Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort: What It Is Now

The Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort no longer exists under that name. The building is now **Club Med Kiroro Peak**, sold exclusively through Club Med as an all-inclusive package (lift tickets, meals and most activities bundled), not as a Marriott-branded nightly room — so there's nothing to book on Marriott.com or Bonvoy, and Bonvoy points, elite status and free-night certificates don't apply here. ## The timeline, plainly

Property Perfect, a Thai developer, built and ran two hotels at the base of Kiroro from the mid-2010s: **The Kiroro, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel** (opened December 2015, Marriott's first Tribute Portfolio property in Asia-Pacific) and the **Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort**, both under Marriott franchise agreements. In November 2021, Fosun Group — Club Med's majority owner — bought the two hotels for ¥15 billion (checked August 2026); Property Perfect retained the condominium hotels and surrounding land. The Marriott franchise agreements ended with that sale.

The rebrand happened in two stages. The former Sheraton reopened as **Club Med Kiroro Peak** in December 2022\. The former Tribute Portfolio building took longer to convert and reopened as **Club Med Kiroro Grand** at the end of 2023\. If you stayed at "the Sheraton" any time before December 2022, the building you remember is Kiroro Peak today.

Marriott's own booking ecosystem left a long tail: old TripAdvisor threads, travel-agency archive pages, and review aggregators that scraped Marriott listings years ago still rank for "Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort" because nobody edited them after 2022\. The giveaway is usually the booking button — if a page routes you to Marriott.com, Bonvoy, or a generic OTA listing that still shows a Marriott logo, it's stale. What you're actually buying now is an inclusive package sold through Club Med's own site or Club Med-affiliated travel agents, not a room-only night — so a page that still promises a Marriott checkout or Bonvoy point pricing for this address is describing a hotel that closed years ago; Club Med Kiroro Peak isn't and never has been on Bonvoy's system.

## What it means for Marriott Bonvoy members

Because the franchise agreement ended in 2021, neither Club Med Kiroro Peak nor Club Med Kiroro Grand is a Bonvoy property today. Bonvoy points can't be earned or redeemed here, elite night credit doesn't accrue, and elite benefits (lounge access, late checkout, suite upgrades) don't apply — this is a straightforward loss for anyone who was banking on Marriott status for a Kiroro stay. Club Med runs its own loyalty structure instead, separate from Bonvoy. If a booking search engine still lets you search "Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort" and shows Bonvoy point pricing, treat that as a leftover listing rather than something you can actually redeem against — verify directly with Club Med or Marriott before assuming otherwise, and search "Club Med Kiroro Peak" instead to find the current booking.

## How booking works now

Club Med doesn't sell Kiroro Peak or Kiroro Grand as a per-night room rate. It sells a per-person, all-inclusive package — flights (optional), a fixed number of nights, meals and drinks, lift tickets, group ski lessons and a set of activities bundled into one price. That's a different purchase than booking "a hotel room," and it's why you won't find a simple nightly rate to compare against a normal OTA listing — Club Med's own site quotes the package total only after you enter travel dates and party size, not as a fixed headline price. ## The change that actually affects your ski day

The detail that matters more than the corporate history: under Sheraton and Tribute Portfolio, the hotel restaurants were open to any diner who wanted to walk in. Under Club Med, the restaurants inside both Kiroro Peak and Kiroro Grand are for package guests only — meals are bundled into the stay, and Club Med doesn't sell walk-in dining to outside skiers. ## The three places on the hill today

**Club Med Kiroro Peak** is the former Sheraton building, sold as a Club Med all-inclusive package. **Club Med Kiroro Grand** is the former Tribute Portfolio building, also an all-inclusive package, with 261 rooms aimed partly at families. **Yu Kiroro** is the outlier: ski-in/ski-out apartment-style residences with kitchens, sold as ordinary nightly bookings through standard channels — no package requirement, no meal plan attached. ## FAQ: the former Sheraton at Kiroro

### Can I still book the Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort?

No. The building has operated as Club Med Kiroro Peak since December 2022, and Club Med sells it only as an all-inclusive package through its own site and travel partners, not as a Marriott nightly booking.

### Do my Marriott Bonvoy points work at Kiroro now?
