Both still say they may be unable to accept the request, so you are buying a priced request, not a held room. The answer changes if you land before noon: Keikyu EX then wants an extra night booked from the day before. For a morning arrival, especially off an overnight flight, our own advice is to book the night before instead (see below). ## Seven Sapporo Hotels That Put Early Check-In Rules in Writing We read the Japanese or English FAQ or guest-information page of Sapporo hotels around the station, Odori and Susukino in October 2026 and kept the seven that publish a rule for entering a room before the standard check-in time. Hotels whose official pages said nothing on the subject are left out rather than guessed at. That is why this page ranks “what the hotel will promise” above “what it charges”. ## What “Bookable” Means for Early Check-In in Sapporo Early check-in at a Sapporo hotel falls into three kinds: a priced add-on you request, a check-in time that is part of your reservation, and a courtesy the hotel promises nothing about. We use the four levels of this series in a strict way. **Bookable** means the earlier time is part of the reservation itself. **Guaranteed on request** would need the hotel to commit in writing after you ask; none of the seven pages does. **Subject to availability** covers every priced add-on, because the hotel keeps the right to say no. **Unknown** is for anything the page does not state. None of the seven reaches Bookable under this reading. Three details matter more than the hotel name. - **The unit of the fee changes the bill.** Sotetsu Fresa Inn, Keikyu EX Hotel and Hotel Nets charge per room per hour, while Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo and Dormy Inn charge per person per hour. For two guests in one room that is ¥1,000 per hour at Sotetsu or Nets against ¥2,000 per hour at Keio Plaza (general floors) or Dormy Inn. JR Inn Sapporo’s page gives ¥1,000 per hour without saying which. - **Before 12:00 is a different product.** Keikyu EX Hotel says check-in before 12:00 is charged as one night and must be booked from the day before. For an arrival before noon, the only written route among these seven is Keikyu EX’s extra night booked from the day before. - **The member route is narrow.** New Otani Inn Sapporo’s 14:00 is listed among New Otani Club member benefits, requires a direct booking by phone or on the hotel’s official website, and excludes plans that fix a check-in time, and its general notes say benefits may not always be granted. A booking made through a third-party site is outside it as the page is written. The Dormy Inn FAQ answers early arrival and late check-out in one combined line, so we took only the fee and the 15:00 standard time from it. Some hotels also run plans with their own check-in times, and the Dormy Inn FAQ itself says a facility’s or plan’s times take priority. If your reservation shows a different time, that one counts. ## What to Ask When You Book Ask before arrival, not at the desk. Sotetsu Fresa Inn, Keikyu EX Hotel, JR Inn Sapporo and Keio Plaza all tell guests to contact the hotel in advance. These Japanese lines can be pasted into a booking-site message or read out over the phone: - **アーリーチェックイン（14時）を希望します。有料でも構いません。** (“I would like early check-in at 14:00\. A fee is fine.”) - **当日、何時から入室できるかを前日までに教えていただけますか？** (“Could you tell me by the day before what time the room will be ready?”) - **料金は1室ですか、1名ごとですか？** (“Is the fee per room or per person?”) If the answer is no, you still have options. The room is then yours the moment you arrive: you can sleep off the flight, shower and start resetting for jet lag in the hotel instead of a café, and nothing depends on whether housekeeping has reached your floor. It costs a full night, but it is the only form of early check-in a Sapporo hotel cannot turn down on the day. Elite status is not a substitute. Top-tier members (Platinum, Diamond) are sometimes let in early, but it is a courtesy, not a rule, and planning a dawn arrival around it is a good way to spend the morning in the lobby. One practical catch: a room nobody checks into that evening looks like a no-show, and hotels sometimes phone that night to ask whether you are still coming. Tell the hotel when you book that you will arrive the next morning and ask them to keep the room. Even then the message does not always reach the night desk and the call may still come; be patient with it. It depends on the hotel and on whether the fee is per room or per person. Sotetsu Fresa Inn Sapporo-Susukino and Hotel Nets Sapporo charge ¥1,000 per room per hour, Keikyu EX Hotel Sapporo ¥1,100 per room per hour from 12:00 to 15:00, and Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo and Dormy Inn ¥1,000 per person per hour (Keio Plaza’s Plaza Floor is ¥3,000). JR Inn Sapporo lists ¥1,000 per hour without a unit (all checked October 2026). ### What is the earliest time I can check in at a Sapporo hotel? Among the seven hotels, the earliest printed hour for a paid request is 12:00 at Sotetsu Fresa Inn, Keikyu EX Hotel and JR Inn Sapporo. New Otani Inn Sapporo offers 14:00 to eligible club members who book direct. Keikyu EX Hotel says anything before 12:00 is charged as a full night booked from the day before. ### Is early check-in guaranteed if I pay?
