Renaissance is the most concrete product, because the pair is the room type. The two rooms are each 36.0m², the beds are listed in centimetres on the page, and the room list has plan links, so what you see is what you book. The catch is occupancy: 4–7 guests with at most 5 adults and at least one child. Four adults cannot book it. The same hotel's Accessible Connecting room is listed for a maximum of 4 guests, and its page shows both "1 room" and "36.0m² × 2 rooms" in different fields, so confirm that detail with the hotel. The Busena Terrace is the most precise about pairs. Its notice names which room is joined to which, and it separates a true inner door from the Club Villa: the Club Villa connecting rooms are in separate buildings with no inner door, and the page says they can be used "like one villa". If the inner door is what you need, do not read "connecting" on a Club Villa listing as the same thing. The three Hilton-group hotels use Hilton's chain feature. According to Hilton's FAQ, you tick the connecting-rooms box on Hilton.com or the Hilton Honors app, choose each room, and the booking is confirmed instantly under one confirmation number; the same page says connecting rooms may carry a higher rate. The hotels' own pages add "subject to availability", which in practice means the pairs can be sold out for your dates, so a search with the box ticked is the test. The pages do not say which room types have connecting doors, and we have not found a size for them. Hilton's FAQ describes this as the reliable way to book, and a request made afterwards is described as subject to availability. Halekulani shows the distinction most clearly. Connecting pairs (Standard with Standard, or Suite with Standard) are listed as available and booked through a phone enquiry, without the caveat attached to adjoining rooms, but also without a stated guarantee. Adjoining rooms are a different promise: the FAQ says you may note the request when booking online or phone beforehand, and that it may not be possible depending on occupancy or room type. At ANA InterContinental Manza the FAQ confirms that some categories can be connected and then sends you to the hotel, so there is no way to verify the pair from the website alone. ## What to Say When You Book A short written request in Japanese is the clearest way to separate connecting from adjoining. These lines match the hotels' own wording: - **コネクティングルームを希望します。** ("I would like connecting rooms.") - **隣どうしのお部屋を希望します。コネクティングでなくても構いません。** ("Rooms next to each other, please; they do not need to connect.") - **コネクティングルームの対象の客室タイプと、大人だけでも利用できるか教えてください。** ("Which room types can be connected, and can adults alone use them?")
