# Kyoto Ryokan Not on the Booking Sites: Book Them Direct

Tawaraya and Kinmata are two Kyoto ryokan not on the booking sites — neither has a listing on Ikyu, Japan's leading ryokan-booking platform, nor on Trip.com or Agoda (checked September 2026). That doesn't mean they can't be booked. Both take reservations through their own official sites: Tawaraya's site has a full English booking portal with real-time availability and card payment, and Kinmata's English page links to its own reservation system. ## Six of Kyoto's storied ryokan, and how each takes a reservation

Tawaraya's absence from Ikyu and the OTAs is not the whole picture.
