Kiroro night skiing means one lift: Center Express, running until 19:00 in the 2025-26 season, and nowhere else on the mountain. It is not a second ski day — it is a small, lit slice of intermediate terrain good for banking extra laps or getting a beginner more mileage after the lifts elsewhere have shut down. A night pass runs from ¥3,000 for an adult and ¥2,000 for a child, and high season for 2026-27 is set for December 12, 2026 to April 11, 2027 (checked August 2026) — but Kiroro's operating-hours page for 2026-27 has not been updated yet, so the 19:00 close and the exact night-operation dates below are still 2025-26 figures, carried forward as the best available signal.

Of Kiroro's ten named lifts — nine of which run, as the Asari No.1 pair has not turned for three seasons — only one — Center Express — ran after dark in the 2025-26 season (checked August 2026).

## What is lit and what is not

Center Express is the only lift that runs after dark at Kiroro. Nagamine, Yoichi and Asari all close for the day around 15:30 in midwinter and stay closed through the evening. Kiroro moves the daytime closing time with the daylight rather than holding one fixed hour, so a 16:15 finish belongs to the end of the season, not to January (2026-27 hours not yet published), so nobody should plan a powder session or a trip to the Nagamine bumps once the sun goes down. Kiroro's price table for 2026-27 lists high season as December 12, 2026 to April 11, 2027, and the night pass is already on sale for that window. In the 2025-26 season, Center Express operated for night skiing until 19:00 through high season (December 13, 2025 to April 5, 2026), weather and snow conditions permitting. One seasonal wrinkle worth planning around: as the days lengthen, Kiroro's daytime lifts stay open later in March — nearer 16:15 by the end of the season — than the roughly 15:30 close typical of December and January. That pushes the point where the day session ends — and Center Express's night session becomes the only lift running — later into the evening as well. Kiroro does not publish exact month-by-month closing times, so treat March as a month where the day-to-night handover shifts later rather than assuming the December schedule holds all season, and check the board at the mountain center on the day.

## The Family lift after dark

In the 2025-26 season the Family lift did not run at night — it closed with the rest of the daytime lifts, around 15:30 in midwinter (2026-27 hours not yet published). If you are travelling with a beginner who needs the gentlest terrain, plan their skiing for daylight hours and treat a night session as something for skiers who can already ride Center comfortably. Whether this changes for 2026-27 is unannounced; confirm directly with the resort if a family night session matters to your trip.

## Tickets: how night access is sold

## What a night lap is actually like

A circuit on Center Express takes about 10 minutes door to door, so a two-hour night session is roughly a dozen laps if the lift keeps moving without a queue — and in my experience over roughly 30 days a season on this mountain, the evening line is short compared with the first hour of a normal day. Cold and wind matter more after dark than they do during the day, so dress for standing at altitude in the evening, not just for skiing.

Here is the one way the night session is simpler than the day: the training poles are not up. During the day, Center A is frequently reserved outright and Center B often has gates flagged left and right for ski school training, so you have to read each run before dropping in. After dark that constraint disappears — Center A, B and C all ski as open runs, and you can lap whichever one you like without checking for a course first. It is the only time on this mountain when the whole Center zone is simply open.

## Who it is for, and who should eat instead

A night session suits two kinds of skier: intermediates who want extra mileage after a full day, and anyone who lost skiing time earlier to a wind hold on Nagamine No.2 or the gondola and wants to make up laps before the trip ends. ## Where to stay if you want to ski nights

A night session only works if you can get to the lift line quickly once the day crowd clears out, and the last buses from Otaru or Sapporo tend to leave before a 19:00 close, which makes slope-side lodging close to mandatory if night skiing is part of your plan.
